Gary Sheppard

Gary Sheppard is an advertising photographer based in Sydney, Australia and working mainly throughout Australasia. He has over twenty years experience producing campaigns for national and international distribution. Gary believes that the ability to produce truly effective advertising photography stems from a mastery of light and composition. This must be combined with technical competence, the ability to deal effectively with people and an understanding of how the advertising industry works. Advertising photography isn’t just about producing pretty pictures. To meet the client’s/agency’s goals its essential to understand how the advertising industry operates and how best to tailor one’s product to produce the best, most efficient and effective result possible. In the competitive world of advertising photography Gary’s aim is to succeed by providing his clients with a product of oustanding quality, delivered on time and on budget.

Gary has won awards at Cannes, One Show, D&AD, London International, CLIO, Folio, Communications Arts and AWARD shows and has work represented in ACMP collections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. He is a founding member of ACMP(society of Australian Commercial and Media Photographers) and is an AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) Master of Photography.
